Welcome to Kirklees Model Boat Club, The club was first registered in the magazine, Model Boats in February 1978 as having twenty members. This year we are celebrating '30 years' of model boating.

The first chairman and founder member was Joe Strand, the club at this time was called, Kirklees Model Club, as club members also ran model cars, boats, tanks and round the pole flying. In the years that followed the activities were refined down to model boat building and sailing, the club name changed along with adopting the Swan logo.

Please visit our History page for more in-depth sight into our club.

And of course don't forget to leave your thoughts/comments in our guest book.

May your Batteries never fail!

Electronic Switchers

A digital proportional radio-control receiver is a clever little gizmo. It can receive a series of signals from the transmitter; decode and amplify them and convert them into a series of corresponding pulses of +ve charge.

It sends these pulses down the white or yellow wires to decoders and amplifiers which turn the pulses into controls for electric motors. OK -  so that's a very simple overview, but if you wanted a full technical description of a modern radio system then you wouldn't be reading this website.......<more>
